Vote for Hank Yeh 2013, the campaign committee to support Hank C. Yeh to run for the 19th
District City Council Member seat, released the following statement from Hank Yeh.
My dear friends & supporters,
With your support, I was honored to engage in the campaign as a Republican candidate to run for the
19th District City Council Member seat which is to be vacant after current Member Dan Halloran’s
term. With all non-paying volunteers’ sweaty effort, the current petition process is moving along
well.
However over the weekend, one of the “Committee to fill Vacancies” members informed us that even
though he did grant the consent to be part of the committee, he thought it was for the eyes of the
Board of Elections only, and did not realize that his name and address will be shown on all our
petition forms, hence felt embarrassed, and insisted we to remove his name from the committee. In
this stage of the game, while we honored his request, it essentially invalided all signed
petitions. Consequently, we have to terminate all campaign activities from now on.
I want to apologize to all supporters who have encouraged me, staffed my campaign, sent in
contributions, forwarded my email requests, carried and signed petition forms. Your hearts of
passion are deeply appreciated, and will be remembered forever.
I sincerely believe that we do need a Common Sense legislator to represent our neighborhood. And I
heard your voices of Education First, environmental friendly waterfront development, reasonable tax
and fee structure, balance between Commercial and Residential needs, and No more Casinos in NYC!
All received contribution will be returned. I am sorry to disappoint you, and I will still offer my
help to you whatever it is possible. Thank you again!
